Deep Nose-to-Mouth Lines

Fix those deep mouth-to-nose lines

Nose-to-mouth lines also called as nasolabial or smile lines, are lines that extend from either side of our nose down toward the corners of our mouth and are most prominent when we're smiling or laughing. These lines are caused mainly by sun exposure and age. The sun's ultraviolet (UV) rays break down the collagen and elastin fibers in our skin proteins that keep our skin smooth and supported, leaving the appearance of thin and saggy skin. Treatments options for this condition can include Dermal Fillers and Mini Threads.

Treatment Options

Dermal Filler

Dermal fillers are gel-like substances that are injected under the layer of the skin to restore the lessening or lost volume, smooth lines such as wrinkles, or enhance the definition of particular parts of the face. With that being said, it is is one of the most popular treatments for conditions that have irregularities, asymmetry, or abnormality in shape, form, and definition of the skin such as wrinkles, humps, or receding skin. Dermal fillers can vary in their composition to make them more suitable for the treatment of different areas. The most common type of dermal filler is the hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal filler, which is composed of a sugar molecule hyaluronic acid, a fluid that is naturally occurring in our bodies and is typically used for wrinkles, under the eyes, lips, and cheek augmentation.

Mini Threads

Mini thread procedure is best described as an advanced skin-tightening procedure that is expertly applied to key areas in the face, such as the eye corners, cheeks, and chin to improve their appearance. The procedure is done by inserting mini threads into the skin using small needles. These threads are naturally dissolvable, so as the threads dissolve, they kickstart the production of new collagen, a protein that is essential in giving our skin structure, to improve the appearance of the area being treated.  These collagen-stimulating threads can come in many forms and the three used in the cosmetic industry are Polydioxanone (PDO) threads, PLLA (Poly-L-Lactic) Sutures, and PCL (Polycaprolactone) Sutures.
